Going For the Jugular
What a masterful performance from the DC Cab last night. I’m still kind of in awe of this team’s ability to bounce back again and again. I don’t know…does the well, by nature, have to run dry?
Hopefully not tonight, as Garrett Olson looks to keep his relatively solid season going against Kyle Davies, who boasts some pretty fine numbers (3-1, 3.34). Nick Markakis is riding a ten-game hitting streak, while Adam Jones is on a six gamer.
Speaking of Jones, he has quietly put together a solid first half, no? He’s not getting much press but I’ll say this much: I’m feeling pretty damn comfortable about him in CF for the next six years or so.
Uh…did Fahey just hit a TRIPLE?
5-run inning after 1 HIT in the previous 3 innings?
The rollercoaster that is Orioles Magic is back, baby!
HR HUFF N’ STUFF!!!
Do you have to be invited to the All-Star game to be in the Home Run Derby? I want Aubrey to take E5-Rod’s place then, the dude is on fire. At the last Nats series Don Sutton even said that during one of the games’ batting practices Huff hit the clock on the top of their scoreboard…which no one has even done before during batting practice, let alone during the actual game.
Man this is one ugly inning (top of the 6th). KC is out-Orioleing us.
wow…I took a break after the 5th and just came back….OUCH.
It’s like the O’s playing the O’s here.
Bleeeeh. But we can dooo EEEET!!
Ohhhh NO! We suck AGAIN!
Well this is a perfect example of what is wrong with the Os: if you don’t have great starting pitching (which we don’t), you need to have a stellar bullpen (which we USED to have).
If we’re losing 7-3 leads against the Royals, no offense to them, but come on; then we’re S-C-R-E-W-E-D against Tampa/Boston/NY. Heck even Toronto is going to be a Herculean task now, yuck.
and of course now we face red-hot Texas. It just couldn’t be our luck to get all of our games with them out of the way in the beginning of the season when they sucked.
A lot of positives here, but damn. Listen guys… this is the first loss when scoring 6 runs and we are the last team to do it. That’s an extremely positive thing when you compare it to last season. Like Aubrey said after the game, you’re going to blow a game like this over the course of 162. Still… it hurts. A lot.
The worst part? Ladies and gentlemen, Adam Loewen, your #1 draft pick. With an 8.41 ERA. Pitching out of the ‘pen.
