Happy Thanksgiving
Seriously, folks, have a good one. Take the time to breathe deep and rid yourself of care for at least a little while.
Some things I’m thankful for…
Good friends/family
Everyone who checks TLC regularly
Vigor
Wine, Women, Song
Andy MacPhail, Nick Markakis, Adam Jones, Jeremy Guthrie
Creativity (mine, yours, everyone’s)
Fugazi’s “Red Medicine”
Zombies
The bass line intro to that one Hoover song
Good coffee
Surprisingly decent luck, all things considered.
Only the top two are in order, and it’s by no means comprehensive. Just some top-of-the head stuff.
Feel free to craft your own list, and also to continue pondering whether or not the Ravens can really make the playoffs, and who’s going to pitch in spots 2-5 behind Guthrie.
Talk to you soon.

I’m a drumstick guy. Mashed potatoes. Pie. My family is Italian so there will be ravioli, lasagna, chicken soup and all sorts of other “side” dishes besides the turkey, which is usually covered in bacon.
Cover your turkeys in bacon, folks. I would Never steer you wrong.
Those are some kick-ass lists, fellas. I would love for some more folks to check in with theirs, but I have a hunch there are more pressing matters at hand.
No matter.
It’s clear we all have a lot to be thankful for. And for anyone who’s part of this community (even tangentially) who might be going through hard times and finding a list tough to come up with: we got your back.

That Hoover song I referenced in the post is called “Electrolux”, and I think it’s only fair that I share it because it’s amazing (to these jaded ears, anyway).

I’m pretty sure those guys wouldn’t mind. And if you like what you hear, I encourage you to pick up the whole album. It’s a fucking great piece of work.
I’m really thankful for this:

That’s the best thing ever.
i just showed that to my daughter and she lost it.
Neal, I never picked you for a screamo fan.
I’d like to recommend my recent favorite album, a sleepytime hit:

I hope someone gets a fat holiday bonus for coming up with that rickroll idea. That’s genius at work.
@Greg: bite your tongue, my friend. Hoover is not “screamo” and I am most definitely not a fan of that genre. Ain’t even the same fuckin’ sport, to paraphrase a great philosopher.
That Eluvium stuff’s not bad. I like your “sleepytime hit” description.
Anybody watching/listening to what the Terps are doing to Michigan State? It’s far from finished but they’re looking damn good so far against the #5 team in the nation.
Hoover, if you wanted to be an elitist, is probably most close to “post hardcore” if you had to define them… but they definitely have some screamo vocals in the middle part there.
When I say screamo I’m not talking about the popular definition that tends to include MCR and Thursday… I’m talking real screamo like Neil Perry, Saetia, Forstella Ford, Usurp Synapse, Hot Cross and shit like that.
When you say “Zombies” do you mean the walking undead or the Ron Argent/Colin Blunstone band?
Both are pretty cool.
