O’s-Twins Open Thread

Weather permitting it’ll be the first of three tonight as the Orioles look to play spoiler against the Twins. The DC Cab is gassed up and ready to go against Scott Baker.

Jeremy Guthrie won’t make his scheduled start tomorrow (Saturday), with Garrett Olson taking his place against Glen Perkins. Sunday’s O’s starter is undecided, while the Twins will throw Nick Blackburn.

But listen here: ‘Ol FlatBrim is back.

Did you know that the Orioles have already matched last season’s home win total? Seems kind of weird, given the past few weeks. But it’s progress of a sort.

UPDATE: tonight’s (Friday) game postponed due to rain, to be made up tomorrow as part of a doubleheader.

THAT was beyond ridiculous. I renew my tentative criticism of Kranitz. (Kind of kidding but not really.)

Honestly, though, how can these pitchers possibly be this bad???? How????

And Cabrera is just such a massive disappointment overall. Makes me sad.

This team is breaking my spirit. For god’s sake, just throw the damn ball down the middle of the plate if you have to. This is just awful.

I wonder how much of it is a lack of talent and how much of it is a combination of tiredness, frustration, and lack of focus. Certainly there’s not a ton of talent on this pitching staff run now, but these guys just don’t seem interested in pitching well for whatever reason. And everyone seems tired.

I’m for keeping Kranitz because we absolutely cannot keep changing pitching coaches and philosophies every two years. Stability is very important in the coaching staff, in my amateur opinion.

Credit where credit is due. Liz was awesome. Maybe there’s some hope for him after all.

    Now, about the others….
