Trade speculation is going to be rampant the next couple of weeks and it's almost impossible to know what will happen. Maybe nothing, maybe another blockbuster, maybe a couple dudes flipped for a bag of balls. The Brew crew seem like they are in it to win it since acquiring CC, but they gave up 4 prospects to do it, so I'm not sure that they are looking to give up any more.

While I would love for that trade to go through, I don't see anyway that the Brew Crew parts with Corey Hart. They just traded away their 2007 first rounder (Matt LaPorta) who could rake in AA because he was a corner outfielder and they have Ryan Braun and Corey Hart blocking him for years. There's no way they part with that kid if they're planning on getting rid of either of those guys. Also, they want to go for it this year, so while it would make sense to try to upgrade at 2B, it wouldn't make much sense to lose Hart who has been a BIG reason they've been playing so well as of late. Finally, I'd say its a coin toss as to who has had a better offensive year thus far between Hart and Huff. Their numbers are very very close with Huff having a minor advantage in power and Hart having a major advantage in speed. I'd love to see that happen, but would be beyond shocked if it came true.

WOW Dan, WOW.

So I guess most of our confusion over what seemed like AM's obsession with pitchers is solved, the dude knows that pitchers have at best a 50/50 chance of pitching decent in the majors (more like 20-30% chance realistically).

Let the fantasy trade discussion commence!

The Brew Crew have a fast and agile 3B in Bill Hall and want to move him to short, and Hardy to 2B because they wish to get rid of their current spotty 2B Ricky Weeks.

Solution...

MIL gets
- 31 y.o. 3B Huff (50R/17HR/54RBI/2 SB/.281BA/.867OPS)
- 30 y.o. 2B Roberts (57R/7HR/32RBI/24SB/.295BA/.866OPS)

BAL gets
- 25 y.o. SS J.J. Hardy (37R/12HR/38RBI/2 SB/.295BA/.857OPS)
- 26 y.o. OF Corey Hart (46R/14HR/55RBI/13SB/.296BA/.850OPS)
+ 3-5 low-level prospects which I am sure AM could finagle from them as well.

Gentlemen, our pitching officially is in shambles:

Brian Burres: 6-5, 5.07 ERA, 113 hits in 91 IP, 12 HR.
Garrett Olson: 6-3, 5.04 ERA, 78 hits in 69 IP, 9 HR.
Radhames Liz: 3-1, 5.94 ERA, 34 hits in 34 IP, 7 HR.

That's 3 out of 5 starters with 5+ ERAs, with no other options in AAA. Then you have:

Trachsel: Failed.
Albers: Toast.
Patton: Toast.
Loewen: Toast.
Walker: Injured.
Bradford: "This guy is being held together by Scotch tape and Band-Aids." - Dave Trembley
Bierd: Mysterious 2-month injury.
Aquino: Ineffective.
Bukvich: Ineffective.
Sherrill: Losing steam.
Penn: Maybe next year.

I mean, what the hell happened? I'm almost ready to say let's shut down Jim Johnson before his rotator cuff blows out or something. There's plenty of relief options in the minors, but none of them are tested. And as we've seen with guys like Bukvich or Liz or Olson.. just because you have good numbers down there doesn't mean you'll be successful in the bigs.

Our second half MVP might just be Daniel Cabrera, who, along with Guthrie, is the one guy that can avoid injuries and go 6 or 7.
