@dan the man - No, you can't be "due". I know that sounds typical of me, but if you're flipping a coin, does the odds of it coming up heads go up because you just flipped 4 tails in a row? Of course not. It's called "The Gambler's Fallacy", so I know I must be right.

I just realized, in exciting news, that Garabez Rosa is playing for the Shorebirds now!

@Andrew - Yeah, the Mariners aren't an especially patient hitting team (without doing any research), and it looks like Hernandez got behind in the count and then left fastballs up and they got hit. If BB has good sink tonight, he might get a lot of hacks from the Mariners that result in ground balls.

Offensively, the Orioles are due (by the way, Andrew, do you believe in being "due"?) and it's killing me to see Huff, Markakis, and Jones so unproductive. The good news is Markakis broke a horrible streak last night of not walking in something like 13 games (WTF?!), and Jones got 2 hits. It also looks like Huff has been hitting into some real bad luck.

I'm ready for Koji to come back. Man Bedard drives me crazy...and classic 6 inning outing from him.

Vargas has been lucky more than good. His opponents (and results) have been: Rangers (bad but lucky), Red Sox (very poor but somehow only gave up 2 runs), Giants (very good), Angels (bad but lucky). He's a fly ball pitcher who doesn't strike a lot of guys out and has benefited from a .221 BABIP. Don't be shocked if the Orioles break out their bats tonight.

On the other hand, Brad Bergesen is a heavy sink ground ball pitcher who doesn't strike guys out with a normal .316 BABIP. I feel like because BB is so fringy, if he misses his spot it tends to get hit hard, which accounts for what feels like a ton of line drives (34 of them in total).

Anyway, BB's opponents and results: White Sox (good), Rangers (very poor), Blue Jays (bad but lucky), Twins (good), Rays (mediocre), Yankees (very poor but lucky), Nats (mediocre), Tigers (great). So I'm thinking we have no idea what we're going to get out of Bergesen.

I'm bored and it's early. This is why I hate west coast baseball. But I'll call it: O's win tonight.

This stretch of pitching has been so brutal, but it's like.. well, you're going to have to find ways to beat these top tier pitchers eventually if you want to compete.
