Le Mans Photos by Frank Scherschel
Not sure what year these are from, as that info is missing from the source. Almost certainly the fifties, and quite possibly 1955 — the year tragedy struck.
There’s no angle to take on Le Mans that doesn’t end up at “bad ass.”

Nice. I love the picture of the guys pondering over a wooden table of spare parts. That’s something you will never see in modern racing. Sort of reminds me of that scene in Apollo 13 when the NASA guys dump a bunch of parts onto a table and say, “Alright, this is what we got.”
Wow. These are the sorts of things – even though I’m no race enthusiast – that make me want to see the Baltimore Grand Prix happen.
Tell me you’ve seen the Steve McQueen movie. I know I’ve pimped it out before.
You have mentioned it before, and I need to see it, but I haven’t yet. No good excuse for it, just haven’t done it. I will though.
I would bet that Neal will not ever watch the movie you suggest, Andrew.
I say this because I loaned him my copy of Lebowski nearly two years ago, and he still has not watched it.
@Ryan – Reaaaaally? I just don’t know what to say about a person like that. What is he doing so much that he can’t afford 90 minutes to a cult classic?
