What you see here is a photo I grabbed from the broadcast of tonight’s Yankees-Angels playoff game at Yankee Stadium. I’ve seen plenty of interesting things during televised sporting events but never before have I been moved to actually preserve any of it. This is a special case.

When I saw that mess on my screen I literally said — out loud, though no one else was in the room — what the fuck?

World, meet Yankees fans.

I’m tempted to hold a caption contest but I’m not sure how much traction something like that would get. If you’re inclined, though, fire away.

As for the playoffs, I’m pulling for an all-West Coast finale even as I realize it likely won’t happen. I’ll settle for Dodgers-Yankees because of both ‘Ol FlatBrim and the fact that it’d make for some great storylines.
