Putting In Perspective
Difficult news to swallow this morning: Reports are out that Angels’ starting pitcher Nick Adenhart was killed in a traffic accident last night after he threw 6 shutout innings against the Athletics.
You all might remember that Adenhart was originally from Silver Spring and was a target of some fan speculation surrounding some of our trade candidates in recent years.
I know it isn’t Baltimore related, but for me it puts all of the Teixeira and Yankee hating in perspective, even if only for the day. So, a toast to his memory, and if you’re into that sort of thing, put his family in your prayers.

Tragic time to be an Angels fan. A fan was murdered in the stadium during their opener, and now a promising young talent was taken away in a collision mere hours after he pitches a gem. As much as I dislike the Angels and all of their fans, tragedies like these make you take pause and re-assess the meaning of the word “hate”, because never in a million years would I wish this sort of tragedy on even the lowliest, most obnoxious Yankee fan. I hope the Angels fanbase can rally around each other and I’m keeping the families of those killed in my thoughts and prayers.
I got chills when I read this. I’m shocked. My thoughts go out to the Adenharts. I had always hoped he would put it together one day and come back home to the Orioles. Such a waste.
