The Dave Trembley Quote Machine, V1
I love this guy. I mean, to the extent that you can love a baseball manager. There are several reasons for this, and up near the top of the list is his high degree of quotability. Witness this nugget from the Post:
“I don’t know what Matusz is like when you talk to him. When I talk to him, he’s got a twinkle in his eye. He’s got a lot of confidence. He’s got a toolbox and he knows how to use the tools that are in that toolbox. He’s going to be very good.”
However, Trembley may have saved his best remark for when he was describing all of the team’s young guns.
“I think it sends a message to the other guys. The cavalry is coming. There are guys on the way and they’re going to get here quickly. Competition is a wonderful thing. Wonderful. Those guys are going to be here, I’m convinced of it, at some point in time.”
“He’s got a toolbox and he knows how to use the tools that are in that toolbox.” Yes.
Here’s to more of the same throughout the summer.
DT quotes make it all worthwhile.
But if Miguel Tejada speaks in the forest and no one is there to hear it, does he make a sound…
“I always enjoyed to be with the Orioles. I’m a free agent this year. You never know. I might come back.”
Haaaaaaaaaa yeah ok Miggy. He grounded into 2 double plays in yesterday’s game and that was enough to remind me of all the frustration.
DT is a quote machine. I propose we keep a running track of him all season.
Oh yeah, definitely. The Dave Trembley Quote Machine is a regular feature now.
