But man, now he's having arguably his best year. He needs to get MVO for sure, if only out of pure pity for the guy. He's setting records while the team is tanking. 100 is just a number though. It's no better if it's 99. What it does, though, is allow people to bitch about it and say "the Orioles lost 100 games, therefore <i>this</i> needs to happen" or "the Orioles lost 100 games, therefore it must be because of <i>this</i> reason", which is obnoxious. They lost because there's no Huff, Sherrill, Jones, Reimold, Matusz, or Bergesen. That's why they are tanking, and it's not because of Dave Trembley or Andy MacPhail or Nick Markakis being in a slump. It's the loss of 5 of the best players on the team. 6 if you count the ghost of Melvin Mora. Anyway, here's to a top 5 pick and the excitement of the offseason.
