FanFest Thanks and Playoff Predictions
I want to take a second to thank the Orioles PR folks and my fellow panelists for a great time at the FanFest “Blogging the Birds” talk yesterday. Everyone did a really nice job. It’s a hell of a thing, this loose community of online O’s fans.
As for today’s NFL action: Jets and Saints. Enjoy the games.
So is it weird/bad that I wanted the Colts to win that game? I know it’s blasphemy and everything, but since I have no feelings towards the Baltimore Colts (besides enjoying the stories and understanding the emotion), I kind of wanted them to whoop on the Jets.
For one, it’s New York. Also, and this is probably also blasphemy, Rex Ryan pisses me off. In Baltimore he was a cool guy and a genius and all that, but he’s come off this year as an egotistical loudmouth. It’s annoying. I guess being cocky and all that is a good coaching quality, and yeah, he obviously is still amazing at defensive schemes, but damn dude. Just shut up and win games.
And finally, I didn’t want to see a similar team to the Ravens (good defense, young QB, good run game) beat the Colts after they beat us. Especially not a team whose coach used to be our guy.
