Orioles FanFest This Saturday
In case you missed it, Orioles FanFest is this Saturday at the Baltimore Convention Center from 11-6. Anyone planning on going?
If so, make sure you’re near the main stage at 5 o’clock. I’ll be speaking on a panel called “Blogging the Birds” with Kate Wheeler from MASN, James Baker from the Oriole Post, Stacey Long from Camden Chat, and Chris Stoner from Baltimore Sports and Life. The talk will be moderated by Steve Melewski.
I don’t really have any sense of what to expect but I know I’m looking forward to it. It’d be nice to see some of you there, and perhaps even we could head across the street for a beer after it’s over. Feel free to come flag me down. I’ll be the guy in line for a Rick Krivda autograph.
Almost forgot: the team will be using the event to help raise relief funds for Haiti. Something to keep in mind if you’ve got a few extra coins while you’re there.
awesome. i went last year and it was a great time. but last year was also in the satadium, so in itself was exciting after being so far removed from being at a baseball game.
that said, i remember last year being particularly cool because there were a lot of fellow o’s fans there (sometime it can feel like there isn’t anyone who likes baltimore sports teams that aren’t purple), and they had a session where they had Q&A’s with all the coaches (i won a signed adam jones ball), as well as a Q&A with all the broadcasters (including the always never-hold-back answers from jim palmer)
last year it was also closer to the season (april 4th), so that was also nice.
i will certainly be there to grill yah neal. and pratt st. ale house is a pretty good option after across the street from the convention ccenter
I haven’t been to a Fan Fest in close to 10 years probably, but I’m pretty excited for this one. The last Fan Fest I attended featured Brook Fordyce and Greg Myers for crying out loud. That’s a far cry from Markakis, Jones, Wieters, and the rest.
I look forward to meeting you!
I believe I will be there on Saturday. If I happen to see you Neal, I will flag you down.
Definitely going to try to go. Very cool about the “Blogging the Birds” feature, and I really like Melewski, so that’s doubly cool. Never been to a fan fast, but if I’m there I’ll hunt you guys down for sure.
Just heard a really nice interview with Bergesen on Garceau’s spot. We have some really well-spoken pitchers coming up with Bergesen, Matusz, Tillman, and Hernandez, too. Finally some quality guys in this organization.
