Miguel Tejada, we hardly knew ye. Except that we did. Miggles’ brief second go-round with the Orioles ended today as he’s off to a pennant race in San Diego, with 24-year old pitching prospect Wynn Pelzer (great name) coming to Baltimore in return. Thus ends the second chapter of an era. I think that for [...]

If ESPN says it it must be true, right? Maybe not but this makes too much sense not to believe. Depending on the terms I might have to take back a little of what I said in the last post. We’ll see. It’s a step in the right direction for sure.

For the most part I try to keep the analysis and opinions I offer here in line with what’s realistic. I try to steer clear of fantasy scenarios. It’d be nice, for example, to trade for and then sign both Roy Oswalt and Prince Fielder. Not going to happen. Just like Mark Teixeira wasn’t coming [...]

Whenever something doesn’t seem right, or comfortable, our lizard brain perks up. It wants answers. Sometimes it maybe even deserves them. In that zealous quest, however, much is often lost. The usual result is oversimplification, particularly when it comes to the notion of “truth.” The idea that since we know how things “should” be we [...]

Remember the promise of a better second-half, so tantalizingly suggested by four straight wins heading into the All-Star break? All gone now. Erased both in spirit and in fact by the same number of losses, straight, to open the second-half descent. If I’m being honest — and I try to be — I’m telling you [...]

Me, the Orioles, the whole damn thing. Out to lunch. More later.
